I recently stayed at Sun Rice Homestay for a couple of nights and had an amazing experience. The property may be simple and modest, but it offers much more than just a place to sleep. Jeff, the host, made the stay exceptional by treating guests like family. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a hot drink and had the chance to connect with other guests. The dinner prepared by Jeff's wife was absolutely delicious, one of the best local meals I had during my time in Indonesia. The highlight of the stay was watching the sunrise and going on a trek through the stunning rice terraces with Jeff. The immersion in nature and culture was truly unforgettable.
Strongly recommend this hotel.

Amazing views of the beautiful terraced rice fields. Host went above and beyond to ensure a great experience, including organizing local activities and helping with transportation. Delicious traditional Indonesian food.
Lack of a small fan in the room made it quite warm and uncomfortable. Mosquitoes were a problem, leading to the need to close the window.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a front and back patio providing lovely views of the rice paddies. Although the bathroom does not have hot water, the warm weather throughout most of the year makes a cold shower bearable.

We had an amazing Christmas experience at this homestay. the owner and his family were incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home. the food provided was delicious and we loved the opportunity to have breakfast and dinner together with the owner and other guests. the highlight of our stay was the morning walk in the rice fields for sunrise, which offered breathtaking views. the location of the homestay was ideal, close to local attractions and with the option to rent a bike for further exploration.
Although the homestay was a bit far from the city, transportation was provided upon arrival and departure. Renting a scooter was also an option, so the distance wasn't a major issue.

The breakfast and dinner at this homestay were amazing! I loved starting my day with a delicious meal and enjoying local cuisine in the evening. The sunrise walks organized by Jeff were definitely a highlight of my stay. The views were breathtaking and Jeff's photography skills were impressive. Jeff provided transportation arrangements and even had scooters available for rent, making it convenient to explore the area. the host was incredibly helpful and ensured that I had a memorable experience.
One thing to note is that the location of this homestay is a bit isolated, with no nearby restaurants or amenities within walking distance. However, this also means that you truly get a glimpse into local life in the area.
